The Robert (Bob) Giacomini Dairy is located
three miles north of the small town of Point Reyes Station in Marin
County, CA. The dairy sits on 700 acres of rolling hills overlooking
the beautiful Tomales Bay.
Bob comes from a long line of dairy
producers with roots dating back over 100 years to the Swiss Mountain
region of Northern Italy. Bob and his wife, Dean, bought the dairy in
1959 and raised four daughters, Karen, Diana, Lynn and Jill, on the
farm. In 2000, the family diversified by launching Point Reyes Farmstead
Cheese Company where they produce California’s only classic-style blue
cheese, Original Blue. Bob is most-proud that diversifying the dairy
brought his daughters back to the farm. Bob is at the helm of the dairy
operation and Karen, Diana, Lynn and Jill are managing partners of the
cheese company. Dean is the family counselor.
