The Kehoe Dairy is located within the Point
Reyes National Seashore in Inverness, Marin County, CA. The dairy
extends from the Pacific Ocean (Kehoe Beach) to Tomales Bay and
traverses the entire Pierce Point Peninsula. The Kehoe Dairy milks 500
cows on 1,000 acres and farms 180 acres of rye grass and oats for silage
and feed.
The Kehoe brothers, Tom, Tim and Mike, now
run the dairy that their grandfather, James Kehoe started in 1922. James
married Alma Bean, who was from one of the founding families of Tomales,
CA. James and Alma’s son Skip, and his wife Jeanne took over in 1965,
Their sons bought the dairy from them in 2000 and now carry on the dairy
tradition with their tight knit families.
“We’re honored to qualify to
be a part of the Clover Family and appreciate the partnership we’ve
created with them over the years. We’re fortunate and very proud that
our milk stays right here in the community and Clover’s North Coast
Excellence Program helps us maintain a top-quality product. It’s nice to
be recognized for the extra effort it takes to produce high quality
milk.”
